As a medication technician, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely administration of medications to our residents. Your duties may include:
Administering medications orally and topically under the supervision of a licensed nurse
Monitoring and recording medication responses and side effects
Ensuring proper medication storage and disposal
Assisting with medication reconciliation and inventory management
Perform rounds every two hours according to the resident's service plan or as needed.
Providing caregiving support, such as assisting with activities of daily living, engaging residents in social activities, and monitoring and reporting any changes in residents' health or behavior
Document pertinent information in the resident's chart in accordance with approved charting procedures.
Report any incidents or accidents involving residents to the Resident Care Director/Supervisor immediately and record all essential details on the Resident Incident and Accident Reporting Form.
Fulfill all medication monitoring responsibilities delegated by the Community Care Coordinator.
Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Knowledge of basic medical procedures and terminology
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Physical stamina to handle heavy lifting and long periods of standing.
Must have reliable means of transportation.
Be at least 18 years of age.
Must pass criminal history check and must not be listed on the Employee Misconduct Registry/ NAR in Texas only.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
